For learners

Your driving journey. A confident first choice.

Choosing a driving school can feel straightforward. Know what to look for, understand what you see and compare on your terms.

Take your time

Four steps. A choice that fits you.

Start with your options, then look at the details that matter to you.

  1. Explore your options

Choose a licence category and place. Narrow your search by manual or automatic lessons, support and lesson times. A school’s address or distance does not confirm that it can collect you from home.

  2. Look at the whole profile

Read about the school, its offers and learner experiences. Check lesson duration, price context and data sources. Missing information stays clearly marked as unknown.

  3. Put your shortlist side by side

Select Compare on up to 3 schools. Look at the offers and available context as well as the price. Sorting follows your chosen criterion; it does not decide which school is best for you.

  4. Get to know the school

Use the available contact details on the profile. Discuss your learning needs, lesson duration, pickup, waiting times and package contents. Confirm availability and arrangements with the school.

A common measure

Consider the price and the lesson length.

A 50-minute lesson differs from a 60-minute lesson. For a single lesson with a known price and duration, the converted hourly rate helps you compare like for like.

Worked example · not a real offer
One lesson
€ 60.00per 50-minute lesson
Converted rate
€ 72.00per 60 minutes

This example only explains the conversion. It is not an offer for a 60-minute lesson or an estimate of your total training costs.

A package is a separate offer

Packages, trial lessons and exams are shown separately from single lessons. Check what is included: the lesson count, duration per lesson and any exams or extra costs. Package prices stay separate; we do not automatically convert them into single-lesson or hourly rates.

No price? It stays unknown.

A missing price does not mean a free lesson. A source date does not prove that a price still applies today. Ask the school to confirm current prices and terms.

Read the story behind the score

Two sources. Each with its own context.

A score only tells part of the story. Look at the written experiences, the number of reviews and the source too.

Experiences on Rijmaatje

The experience count may include contributions without a score. The average uses only experiences with a valid score. We do not fill in a missing rating.

Reviews from Google

The Google average and Google review count are kept separate from Rijmaatje experiences. We do not combine these sources. The recorded Google figures may differ from what Google shows now.

Results in context

A pass rate needs an explanation.

Compare CBR results only when you know what the figures describe. These details belong together on a profile:

  • The licence category
  • The exam type, such as a first attempt or a resit
  • The period covered by the result
  • The number of exams behind the percentage
  • The data source

When required context is missing, we do not show a fully comparable percentage. Incomplete data is not a judgement of a school’s quality. Even a complete result cannot guarantee your own exam outcome.

What does a profile status mean?

Claiming and verification are separate statuses. Each is shown individually, including an unknown status when the information is missing.

Claimed

This reflects whether the source records the profile as claimed. A claim alone is not a quality label and does not prove that all information is current.

Verified

This reflects the recorded verification status. Without further detail about the check, it should not be read as a general quality guarantee.

Consider statuses alongside the offers, experiences and a personal conversation. No badge or position in a sorted list replaces your own judgement.

Select the heart on a school. Your favourites are saved locally in this browser on this device. They normally remain after a tab closes, as long as the browser keeps its stored data.

Compare up to 3 at a time

Select Compare on a school. Your selection is kept for the browser session in this tab. Open the comparison bar to see the chosen schools side by side.

If your browser blocks storage, your selection may only be available temporarily in the open page or URL. Keeping it after a reload is not guaranteed. There is no account or automatic synchronisation across devices.

Know what you are looking at

A clear picture starts with the source.

This version uses a captured set of public driving school data. It does not fetch live details from each school on every visit. Confirm important details directly with the school.

Data captured on

2 Nov 2026

This is when the source data was captured. It does not prove that every price, status or experience was checked individually on that date.

A few more things

Good to know.

Is the converted hourly rate what I pay?

The hourly rate is a comparison per 60 minutes. What you pay depends on the offer and your agreement with the school. Check the original lesson price, duration and terms too.

Why is a CBR pass rate sometimes missing?

Without enough context, such as the period or exam count, a percentage gives an incomplete picture. We leave missing details unknown rather than fill in an outcome.

Can I use Rijmaatje in English?

Yes. Switch between NL and EN to change language. The interface and this guide are translated. Driving school profile text stays in Dutch or its original language when no English source text is available. This does not tell you which language a school teaches in.

Will my favourites appear on another device?

Favourites belong to the browser and device where you save them. There is no account synchronisation. If you clear browser data or use a different browser, that selection will not be available there.

How do I arrange a trial lesson or start date?

Open a school profile and choose a trial enquiry or its available contact details. The form and receipt explain how your enquiry is handled. The school confirms current options, prices, start dates and arrangements. An enquiry does not reserve a lesson.
